Mary Hauk Swoops down from Michigan to win The Olde Naples Classic and Golden Gate.

On February 27th 2011 Golden Gate Country Club Hosted the Fort Myers/Naples Golf Channel Am Tour’s Olde Naples Classic. Golden Gate Country Club is one of Naples Oldest courses with a classic old Florida design and has always been know for its fast and undulated greens. In 2011 the coursed showed mercy by not having the greens as fast as usual.

Mary Hauk a Detroit Michigan Member swooped down to Naples to claim her second Victory in the Snead Flight with an impressive score of 83, winning $746.00 in Total Prizes and being the first player in the 2011 season to be awarded Tournament champion for the 2nd time. Mary’s Game has massively improved in the 2011 season
starting off with a 24.7 index to earn her newest index of 11.9 probably the best improvement I have every seen in 12 years of running events. Just shows how hard work pays off, Congratulations to Mary.

Shauna Federico completed the one two punch of the woman's success at the event, two Woman played and two woman won their respective flights. Shauna who has been promoted this year to the Sarazen flight won her third time this year with back to back victories. Shauna just edged out Michael Bresnahan who jumped out to a commanding lead on the front nine by shooting a 39, but Shauna’s 41 on the back with a par on 18 out lasted Michaels 47 back nine with a  bogie on 18.

2009 Player of the year Don Smith found himself back in the winner circle with a one stroke victory over new member Eric Howe, Don tried to give the victory away with a 9 on the 18th hole but Eric could convert the par put to force a playoff giving Don his third victory of the year.

Mark Lott held off the charge from Mary Hauk’s 1056 player of the year points by earning 364 points of his own to maintain in first place by just under 400 points. Mark shot a 75 to record his 5th Victory of the year.
