Peter Sorrentino Wins The Everglades Classic at Bonita Bay 

It was a close one but Peter Sorrentino edged out Shauna Federico for Tournament champion in a tie breaker. Peter who shot a 76 came in 2nd place to Tom Bieser in the Palmer Flight who shot an 74. This was Tom’s Second Victory and his 2nd consecutive 74 has earned a promotion to the Senior Championship Flight.  Peters tie break win over Shauna Federico may have huge implications for Player of the Year. Like a heavy weight fight the top three in this years player of the year standings keep taking turns delivering blows to  leap to the top of the standings. This week it was Shauna’s turn by winning the Sarazen Flight for her 6th win of the season and earning 381 points to jump her from 3rd place to first. But because she lost the tiebreaker for tournament champion she just missed out in earning an additional 200 points leaving her with a slight lead over Frank Monaco by 99 points. With only three events to decide the victor, I can wait to see who pulls this out, Is the next event Mark Lotts turn to flex his muscle? Mark took 2nd place this week loosing to Mort Bertram, this was Mort’s first victory of the year in the Championship Flight.   Stay Tuned!!!
